LAGOS COOPERATORS RE-ELECT SHOBULE FOR ANOTHER TERM
The Lagos State Cooperative Federation (LASCOFED) held its 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and 2024 Congress on August 8, 2024, culminating in the re-election of Barrister Oladipo Shobule as President. Shobule secured a decisive win, receiving 202 votes, while his opponent, Cooperator Olusegun Shodiya, garnered 41 votes.
The election also saw Alhaji Ismail Shabi emerge as the new Treasurer, defeating Hon. Jamiu Lawal in a closely watched contest. Meanwhile, the positions of 1st to 6th Vice-President went unopposed, with Mr. Ayuba Ogunsanu, Mr. Jeremiah Athanhode, Mr. Aderokun Akinpelu, Mr. Ibilola Gbenga, Mr. Safuraini Otunla, and Alhaja O. Oshodi-Bakare filling the respective roles.
The election process, overseen by the Electoral Committee led by Alhaji Idowu Adenekan, was conducted transparently, ensuring fairness across all contests.
Following his victory, President Shobule expressed gratitude to the cooperators and delegates for their peaceful participation. Known for his integrity and dedication, Shobule assured members that his administration would continue to strengthen the Lagos State Cooperative Movement through effective leadership, adherence to cooperative laws, and the implementation of global best practices.
He urged all members to move beyond the elections and focus on the continued growth and success of LASCOFED. The re-elected president’s call to unity emphasized the cooperative community’s commitment to progress and shared principles.
